Over 50 meters of powder coated balustrade to perimeter of play area platform and multiple sets of stairs leading to play area.
For this project we were approached to support with the secondary metal work needs for a new trampoline park development. Originally the requirements were to design, supply and install the main feature staircase and stainless steel and glass balustrade for the existing mezzanine floor. However, as our relationship grew with the customer and they could see the quality of our work, we were given additional work which included supply and installation of a powder coated balustrade to the perimeter of the new play area platform and multiple sets of smaller stairs leading to the play area.
We undertook the design of the main feature staircase with instruction from the customer and agreed a straight, mid platform staircase with stainless steel and glass balustrade would be most appropriate. The mild steel staircase met all current regulations with calculations to support. Treads were a light GRP cover with safety yellow nosing.
The railing of the staircase was 48mm stainless steel tube with 10mm toughened glass. This led seamlessly into the 74m of stainless-steel railings required at the top of the mezzanine. All joints were fully welded and polished. Design of the stainless balustrade were again completed by us, meeting regulations and the required force loading’s.
The additional work given included the balustrade to the wooden platform at ground level. This included over 50 meters of box section balustrade – powder coated and installed by our team of engineers. Posts were equally fixed to the floor and platform ensuring strength to the balustrade. We were also required to fabricate multiple sets of smaller stairs for access to the trampoline platform. These steel stairs were fabricated from steel box section and powder coated. Due to the small size of these stairs, we were able to fabricate and deliver to site complete, it was just up to our team of engineers to wheel into position and fix into the ground.
